Equipping knowledge and skills to the teachers about genocide prevention and human right.
Peacedu Initiative Rwanda has carried out various trainings to the 240 teachers countrywide. The topics that have covered in the trainings include genocide studies and human rights education. These trainings help them to acquire knowledge that they use while teaching students in the clubs at their schools. Peacedu Initiative Rwanda equips the teachers with methodology and practical knowledge using peace education theories, and testimonies from the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and other genocide took place all over the world including Holocaust as well as the stories from peacemakers. After the trainings, teachers are given educational support materials that they use to teach the peace component, genocide prevention, human rights in the students’ clubs, but also to drive a conversation in their communities.
