During these hard times of COVID-19, On 17th and 18th June 2020, Peace Education Initiative Rwanda met its beneficiaries, mostly genocide survivors widows in Kayonza District, Rukara Sector. PeacEdu reminded them to follow regulations set by the Health Ministry regarding the prevention of COVID-19 spread. Then, we identified challenges beneficiaries face due to the COVID-19 and came up with solutions which include but not limited to paying health insurance as we are approaching the end of 2019/2020's health insurance period, providing sanitation materials, and repairing our beneficiary's house which was destroyed. We also discussed our beneficiaries' involvement in building peace and promoting reconciliation and how they would step forward during these challenging times.
